Based on Psalm 139:1-3

I glance all around for you
And quickly find you-
     I’m not far from you!

I’m completely aware of where
You sit in the classroom, and why,
And if you get up to leave-
     I notice you!

I pick up on your expressions
Across the dining hall-
     I see what you’re feeling!
I wonder where you’re at,
Whether you’ve headed home for the night
I can’t wait to see you in the morning!

Oh, I’m acquainted with your quirks
Perfectly understanding your personality,
Caring deeply about your character.

I can guess what you’re about to say-
     I know you that well!
Even one crinkle of your eyebrow
     Tells me a story-
So, yep, I can finish your sentences…
But I don’t,
Because I just want you to keep talking.

I glance all around for you,
But it’s never hard to find you, Kayla
Because you’re sitting right next to Me-
My friend, My home.

“O Lord, you have searched me and known me. You know when I sit down and when I rise. You discern my thoughts from afar. You search out my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways.” (Psalm 139:1-3, ESV)
