Close your eyes and picture yourself on your normal day, whether it be at school, on campus, at the store, or so on. (Now open them because you do need to read!). Now imagine thousands of fine threads, connecting you and the people around you, linked to various books and even situations and events and phrases.

You are not physically tied down, but move freely through out your day, living life in love with God. He seems to be wholly unconnected with those little occurrences in your day, like who you stopped to talk to on the way to the cafe, or what movie went on the screen tonight. Every moment, an opportunity to know God more and have your own character built.

Meanwhile, those threads interlock and intertwine. El Roi, the God who sees (sees YOU!), is busy at work making those strings work together for the good of you who love Him. If you didn’t love Him,  you would be mad at Him for messing with your plans, and get frustrated. So He wouldn’t want to force you to follow Him. However, you know Him. You know He adores you. And won’t do anything less than your best. Weird, huh? God who sees all, but loves you so.

For me today, He slipped off the blindfold of so many of these little occurrences and showed me how these strings wove together to make a wonderful picture of my own life. A lovely one. An overarching theme that carried God’s heart…

Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and all that is within me,
bless his holy name.

Bless the Lord, O my soul,
And forget not all his benefits
Who forgives all your iniquity,
Who heals all your diseases…

Psalm 103:1-3

Oh, Jesus, oh how I long to love you more!
